Hi Viz
PANeK Presented: Hi Viz at the Marlowe Theatre as part of the theatre’s amazing opening weekend (7th – 9th October 2011)
Supported by Canterbury City Council this specially commissioned “pop-up” performance involved some of East Kent’s top performers, who all normally create work for their own companies. They created a whole new staff team for the building and some very strange customers … over-zealous health and safety and security officers and not-so-zealous cleaners; “I love the Marlowe” fanclub; paparazzi; a couple of very shady ticket touts and a pair of deeply charming drunks. They were co-ordinated and artistically mediated by Gary Barber
The new Marlowe Theatre is a stunning building, with fabulous contexts for all sorts and scales of work – congratulations to Canterbury City Council for their vision and determination. We look forward to seeing the possibilities of the building flourish into an amazing and diverse programme.
